Markings in industrial halls identify escape routes, work areas, routes and restricted areas
Hall markings are often prescribed by law by trade associations. Escape routes, work areas, routes for forklifts, restricted areas in front of doors, gates and machines are usually marked. Markings of this type are mainly carried out in yellow, as the color yellow stands for safety markings. Epoxy resin coatings, screed and paving are suitable substrates. Markings of work areas such as storage areas for empties, warehouses, machines, equipment, etc. are also essential to ensure an orderly workflow. Markings in halls lack the cleaning effect of rain. For this reason, only materials that are less soiled or easy to clean under these conditions should be used. A paint-like surface is an advantage here.
It is therefore best to opt for a plastic marking paint such as Kronalux® Marking Paint 752. Do not use road marking paints in halls. These have too rough a surface and get dirty too quickly. For very heavy-duty use, it is better to use our 2K products, e.g. Kronalux® 2K PU industrial marking paint 757 or Kronalux® 2K PU industrial marking spray 761. You can also mark steel, aluminium and galvanized surfaces with this 2K high-performance marking paint.
Marking parking garages and underground garages
Well thought-out and clearly visible markings are particularly important in confined spaces, as is often the case in parking garages and underground garages. Parking space numbers are a must in permanently rented parking garages. However, the marking of disabled parking spaces or the creation of mother-child parking spaces must also be considered in underground and multi-storey parking lots. Indoor markings lack the cleaning effect of weathering. Therefore, only use materials that are less likely to get dirty or are easy to clean under these conditions. We recommend products with a paint-like surface. Do not use road marking paints in covered areas, as they have too rough a surface and therefore become dirty too quickly.
The colors on the monitor/display are not technically binding. Please refer to the color chart for binding colors.
Substrate preparation
Coatings on concrete, screed
Mineral substrates must have set well before starting the coating work, new concrete must be at least 4 - 6 weeks old. The substrate must be dry, clean, grease-free and sound; loose and sandy layers must be removed. Concrete and screed must still have sufficient absorbency to ensure adhesion. Any layers of cement paste and sinter on the surface must be removed by sandblasting, milling or treatment with dissolved citric acid. Oily concrete surfaces that have already been used are best cleaned by brushing with Jaeger 080 Special Cleaner or alkaline cleaning agents. Rinse with plenty of water or with a steam jet. Allow surfaces to dry thoroughly afterwards. Moisture on the reverse side impairs adhesion.
Magnesite or hard concrete coverings and non-absorbent substrates
Remove wax or care products with nitro thinner. Sand the substrate or acidify with citric acid and rinse with water. If necessary, prime with Kronalit® Epoxy Primer 819 + 5% Catalyst 883 to achieve better adhesion.
Coatings on steel
The substrate must be dry and clean, free from rust, scale, grease and chemical contamination. Use Jaeger Multigrund 715 for corrosion protection. Sand down old coatings, we recommend preliminary tests to check adhesion. Not suitable for glass. Carry out preliminary tests on plastics.
Number of coats as marking
1x 2C PU industrial marking 757
Note: Apply thin coats up to max. 300 µm - there is a risk of cracking (asphalt) if the layer thickness is too thick. For asphalt, we recommend our 2K Rollplastik and our 1K marking paints.
Coating structure R13 slip resistance as marking
1x 2K PU Industrial Marking 757
1x scattering agent 759 with 50 % for coating in damp coating
1x 2K PU Industrial Marking 757 as top coat
For safety reasons, we recommend always applying slip resistance by scattering for full-surface markings.
