Copper patina 926

Copper paint with verdigris copper patina effect
Copper surfaces match the industrial design excellently, particularly if they have a patina with the typical verdigris. The copper patina works similarly to the real rust: The copper-red primer is made to react with an activator, the verdigris already appears after approx. 30 minutes.
Material type:
Copper-coloured primer, with the activator, a blue-green patina is created, also called verdigris.
Usage:
Copper patina 926 enables the design of copper-coloured surfaces, which can be coated with a blue-green patina, as desired. Suitable on walls, ceilings or exposed surfaces. Depending on the application method of the activator, the patina effect can be designed individually.
Properties:
Decorative appearance, real copper patina, individual design options, easy to apply
Instructions for processing Copper Patina 926
1. Preparing the surface
The surface must be dry, clean, and stable. For highly absorbent surfaces, we recommend using a deep primer to strengthen the surface. Not suitable for use on alkaline surfaces such as fresh concrete. Iso-Mineralgrund 309 creates an even surface as an adhesive primer.
2. Applying the base color
- Stir the copper base color well and dilute with max. 10% water.
- Apply once or twice with a roller. Allow at least 4 hours drying time between coats.
- Then allow to dry overnight (at least 12 hours).
3. Applying the activator
- Apply the activator to the dried base color in patches using a brush, roller, or natural sponge. After approx. 30 minutes, the verdigris will become visible.
- After 2 hours of intermediate drying, the activator can be applied again.
The amount of activator determines the final appearance; the activator can be reapplied as often as desired after intermediate drying. The final appearance develops over the next few hours.
Important note: 500 ml of activator is required for 1 liter of copper patina. The copper patina must only be used in combination with the activator.
4. Sealing (optional)
After a drying time of at least 48 hours, the copper patina surface can be coated with Echt-Rost-Siegel 925 indoors. Dust the surface before sealing and apply the sealant only thinly. The sealing lacquer protects the surface from discoloration and slightly fires the substrate depending on the degree of dilution.
Caution: Activator should only be applied once before sealing. Applying multiple coats of activator will cause incompatibility with the sealing lacquer, which will then turn milky.
Harmonious effects through the combination of copper patina and real rust
The combination of copper patina and JAEGER's rust color opens up fascinating design possibilities that give every room a unique atmosphere. Copper patina provides an elegant, greenish discoloration reminiscent of antique copper, while real rust adds rustic charm with its warm, earthy texture. Together, these two techniques create impressive visual effects that can accentuate both modern and classic interiors.
