Application of JAEGER Antiqua lime plaster
Step 1: Preparing the surface
Clean the surface thoroughly and remove any loose particles. Consolidate highly absorbent surfaces with a deep primer. Moisten the consolidated surface. Prime the surfaces (exterior and interior) with adhesive primer, JAEGER Iso-Mineralgrund.
Step 2: Applying the lime plaster
- First coat: After allowing the adhesive primer to dry for two hours, the first coat of JAEGER Antiqua lime fine plaster can be applied in any direction.
- Drying: The first coat should be completely dry before applying the next coat.
- Second coat: The second coat of lime fine plaster is then also applied in any direction.
- Pressing: Immediately after applying the second coat, the surface must be pressed with a smoothing trowel to achieve a smooth and even texture.
- Temperature conditions: It is important not to work at temperatures below 5°C or above 35°C and to avoid direct sunlight during application.
Step 3: Finishing the surface with antique soap (optional)
After a waiting time of at least six hours, Antique Soap 985 can be applied for decorative finishing and to protect the surface. This wax soap gives JAEGER Antiqua lime plaster a unique antique effect while enhancing color brilliance and depth. Once dry, the treated surface becomes water-insoluble, which increases its durability. The application creates an aesthetically pleasing, antique-looking surface finish that is ideal for designing walls with a classic, timeless character. The gloss level is increased and the color appears even more intense, further enhancing the overall effect of the wall design.
