Jungkeit Waterproof 620

Sealing compound – fibre-reinforced solutions for lasting sealing
- Waterproof, elastic and fibre-reinforced sealing compound
- Seals immediately and permanently, even in rain or frost
- Bridges cracks up to 1 cm
Permanently elastic, fibre-reinforced sealing compound for the repair of damaged joints, cracks and holes in the entire roof area, such as chimneys, drainpipes, skylights, roof windows, gutters, etc. Seals immediately and permanently, can even be used in emergencies in frost or rain. The special formula ensures that the sealant remains durable and elastic, making it the perfect choice for a variety of applications.
Excerpt from test report no. 6015/0159 of the MPA (Materialprüfanstalt für das Bauwesen) Braunschweig dated 21/05/1999, values according to DIN EN ISO 527: tensile strength x = 0.14 N/mm², strain at tensile strength x = 16.6%, breaking stress x = 0.01 N/mm², breaking strain x = 134%.
Application of the sealant to the entire roof area
Substrate
When applying our sealant, it is crucial that the substrate is prepared correctly. Suitable substrates include tar, bitumen, torch-on membranes, roofing felt, fibre cement, rigid PVC, aluminium, zinc, copper, lead, stone, concrete, slates and shingles. These materials provide a stable base for the sealant, but require careful preparation to achieve the best results.
Substrate preparation:
- Strength and cleanliness: The substrate must be strong, clean and dry. Surfaces must be free of dust and grease to ensure a long-lasting seal.
- Removal of loose material: All loose material must be removed to create a smooth and even surface.
- Cleaning metals: Aluminium, zinc and copper should be thoroughly cleaned with a commercial cleaner to remove contaminants.
- Cleaning smooth surfaces: All smooth surfaces such as hard PVC and metals should be treated with a universal cleaner to ensure that no residue impairs adhesion.
Painting
For optimal use of the sealant, it is important to apply the coat carefully. Here are the steps and conditions to keep in mind:
Coating structure:
Apply the Jungkeit Wasserdicht sealant undiluted in 1 to 2 layers with a thickness of approx. 2 mm using a brush. This ensures that the minimum consumption of 2 l/m² is achieved. In most cases, a single application is sufficient. In extreme conditions, a second coat can be applied after about 8 days to reinforce the seal.
Can be painted over:
The sealant can be painted over with conventional, water-dilutable acrylic paints to change the colour.
Processing conditions:
During the entire processing and drying time, the temperature of the material, substrate and air should be between 8°C and 30°C. In an emergency, processing is also possible in rain or frost down to -5°C, which increases flexibility in different weather conditions.
Following these instructions will ensure that the sealing compound is applied effectively to the roof and that a lasting seal is guaranteed.
Special instructions: It cannot be used underwater or against pressing water. Care should be taken when using on plastics, as these may be dissolved. Not suitable for use on Styrofoam®. We recommend preliminary tests for unknown surfaces.
