Jaegerlacke's patina paint allows you to give surfaces a charming vintage look in no time at all. Whether on metal, wood, plastic, or other suitable surfaces, the paint creates deceptively real patina effects reminiscent of naturally aged materials. Patina paint is particularly popular in arts and crafts, restoration, and model making to give objects an individual touch. Thanks to its easy application by spraying, even complex shapes and hard-to-reach areas can be easily finished. The quick-drying formula ensures fast workflows, while weather resistance allows for both indoor and outdoor use.
Processing instructions for Patina Paint 932
Substrate preparation
Careful preparation of the substrate is crucial for best results. The substrate must be clean, dry, and free of grease. Rust, scale, and mill scale must be thoroughly removed. Old paint should be cleaned, sanded, and checked for recoatability before treatment to ensure optimal adhesion of the patina paint.
Preparation of the patina paint
Stir the patina paint well before use. It is also recommended to stir the paint repeatedly during application to ensure that the color pigments are evenly distributed.
Coating structure – patination techniques
The coating structure can vary depending on the desired effect:
- Negative patination: Apply the patina paint with a short-bristled brush and immediately wipe it off with a cloth soaked in synthetic resin thinner 068 so that the paint remains only in the recesses.
- Positive patination: Form an absorbent cloth into a ball and moisten it with the patina paint. Wipe off any excess paint on an absorbent surface. Then wipe edges, raised areas, and reliefs with gentle pressure until the desired effect is achieved. Work quickly to prevent the edges from drying prematurely.
In both cases, we recommend preliminary tests to optimally adapt the effect to your requirements.
Processing conditions
During the entire processing and drying time, the material, substrate, and air temperature must not fall below 10°C or exceed 30°C. The air humidity should be between 30% RH and 75% RH during the entire time. High temperatures and low humidity accelerate drying, while low temperatures and high humidity delay drying.
