Kronen zinc dust paint is a coating system for areas on iron and steel elements (including stainless steel) that are difficult to access, such as weld seams, flanges, rivets, and screw connections. Also suitable for re-zinc coating in case of damage to galvanized surfaces. Enables precise corrosion protection with long-lasting effect. Jaeger zinc dust paint is a primer consisting of 90% finest zinc dust. The dry film achieves a layer thickness of 40 µm with a single coat, guaranteeing 6 months of rust protection without overcoating. Jaeger zinc dust paint provides cathodic corrosion protection, as achieved by applying metallic zinc. Jaeger zinc dust paint is heat-resistant up to 550 °C, and the treated surface can be painted over with many paint systems.
Substrate preparation
Remove scale, rust, and grease. Dry or clean the surface. For blasting, Sa 2.5.
Coating structure
1-2 coats of Kronen zinc dust paint.
Dry film thickness
One coat approx. 40 µm.
Recoatability
Can be recoated with many paint systems; nitro and acrylic resistant. The gloss level of the top coat is reduced!
Processing conditions
During the entire processing and drying time, the material, substrate, and air temperature must not fall below 8°C or exceed 30°C. The air humidity should be between 30% RH and 75% RH during the entire time.
