Stucco Fondo is a mineral-based base coat for professional substrate preparation for particularly high-quality smoothing and marbling techniques in interior areas, especially for Stucco Veneziano and Stucco Romano by JAEGER.
Processing instructions for Stucco Fondo
- Substrate preparation
- Start by cleaning the surface to remove dirt and loose particles. Highly absorbent substrates should be consolidated with a deep primer. If necessary, an additional coat of adhesive primer, Iso-Mineralgrund 309, can be applied to improve adhesion. Before applying Stucco Fondo, the surface can be lightly sanded with P 80–100 grit sandpaper.
- Application and processing conditions
- Before you start applying the product, make sure that the material, substrate, and air temperatures are between 8°C and 30°C and that the relative humidity is between 30% and 75%. Then apply Stucco Fondo with the Jaeger smoothing trowel or the Jaeger Veneziano spatula in several thin layers until the desired smoothness is achieved. After application, the surface should be sanded dry with 320-grit sandpaper, depending on the roughness.
- Drying time
- The drying time is approx. 1 - 5 hours, depending on the layer thickness and the ambient temperature.
